How can senior year almost be over? Weren’t we just registering them for kindergarten a few years ago? Watching them clutch their oversized backpacks in one hand and shyly peering around our legs toward the classroom? How did senior year creep up on us and fly by so quickly? Someone tell time to just slow down!
Unfortunately, as every parent who has been there can tell you, time waits for no one. And never is that more apparent than during senior year. We are in the final months now before graduation and it’s already time to order caps and gowns and get those last invitations to relatives in the mail.
If you planned ahead and did senior portraits last summer or fall, maybe you are cruising now and thankful that it’s one thing you don’t have to schedule between now and May. But… if you didn’t, rest assured it is not too late! I have photographed plenty of seniors in the spring once the weather evens out. Frankly, it’s often a great time to capture them in their element before they are out the door to college or elsewhere. The stress of fall college decisions and essays are behind them and many times they are simply cruising toward the finish line.
Spring senior portraits offer some advantages
For seniors who enjoy spring sports, it’s also a great opportunity to capture them in their element. We can capture your senior at the track for instance, or maybe the baseball, softball, or lacrosse field. In addition, there is also the ability to do cap and gown portraits in the spring.
Plus spring is a great time to get outdoors with the summer heat or the crazy busyness of fall. The spring flowers and gorgeous light make this an ideal time of year to capture fresh, vibrant portraits.
All this is to say it is not too late to schedule and create some fabulous senior portraits of your amazing son or daughter. Reach out to me and we can talk about a custom session that fits your senior to a tee!
