Circle of Life: Family Photos in Nashville

As a family photographer there are few things more gratifying than capturing the circle of life. When a client returns to you, time and again, to photograph meaningful milestones, it’s truly the greatest compliment.

I first met Angellica and Justin three years ago when they were planning a wedding later that year. Angellica was finishing graduate pharmacy school and a bit overwhelmed in her final semester. Justin took the lead on setting up the photography, and we met at Nashville’s Shelby Park for a morning engagement session.

I knew right away these two souls were deeply connected. Justin was so attentive to Angellica, and the special glances they shared told the story of their relationship without the need for words. They trusted me to guide them to different areas of the park to create unique, romantic images. And the results turned out beautifully. We all felt great about working together for their late spring wedding in just a few months.

Their wedding day at the gorgeous Barn at Sycamore Farms was magical and joyous on every front. After the engagement session, it was easy to relax and feel comfortable with each other during the entire day. The love shared by all their family in attendance was abundantly clear.

One year later, Justin and Angellica again reached out to me. We captured a beautiful anniversary session in Brentwood’s Smith Park in the midst of soft, romantic morning light. I had a feeling it wouldn’t be long before their family would begin. Even so, I loved that they wanted to capture this special time for themselves with some beautiful images.

The family circle continues

Fast forward to 2020. Justin reached out to let me know Angellica was expecting! We set up a maternity shoot as soon as possible, as she was due within two months. But timing is everything, and we were unable to go through with the shoot because of Covid restrictions. We had to miss this milestone but I felt certain we would reconnect again.

Baby makes three

Finally, last month, I excitedly met with Angellica and Justin once again and capture the love they now share with their beautiful son! We captured the photos highlighted here at Percy Warner Park one morning in late July. Baby Justin was a sweetie and completely caught my heart. Angellica and Justin, still deeply in love, made a point to ask me to capture a few romantic photos of themselves during our session.

The circle of life is a beautiful thing. And there is nothing more important than family. It lifts my heart happy to work with families that value the timeless keepsake of photo memories.
