Ana and Josh are about as down-to-earth as it gets so when it came to their wedding vows they knew Jon Haven Farm was the perfect location for an affordable Nashville wedding. Both share a love of farm life, animals, and plenty of wide open spaces. All were in abundance at this pristine wedding venue choice! And even better, their beagle was their best man!
Personal touches and Wedding DIY
There were so many personal touches to Ana and Josh’s wedding day. To begin, their silicon rings featured exquisite Italian engraving: “il mio amore, 8-17-19.” Ana wrapped her grandmother’s gold cross around her wedding bouquet, and tucked her own mother’s handkerchief inside her dress. Brilliant purple tones were in full array in the bridesmaids’ bouquets, dresses, the men’s bow ties, and in the DIY table decor as well.
One personal note. I was especially happy to photograph Ana and Josh’s wedding because I had the honor of serving as her sister’s wedding photographer two years earlier! To check out Maria and Michael’s fabulous nuptials, take a peek here! Maria and Michael have since moved across the pond to Northern Ireland where Michael is from. But they traveled back to Middle Tennessee to be a part of Ana and Josh’s big day!
A furry and wonderful ring bearer
Ana and Josh’s friends and families all gathered to help the couple celebrate their union. This included Ana’s two grandparents, who were joyfully smiling all day long. I must say, though, a four-legged family member stole the show! The couple’s sweet “fur person” Lucas–a sweet, a big brown-eyed Beagle ring bearer played the role of ring bearer! Just after Josh walked down the aisle, Lucas came happily bounding full speed on his short little legs toward the alter. (You can see him romping right toward Josh in the images below!) Did the wedding rings make it? Of course, as Josh had firmly clipped both rings to Lucas’s purple doggie bow tie! Who’s a good boy? You are, Lucas!
After the ceremony, guests moved inside Jon Haven’s covered reception area to cool off. But before that, we made sure to capture lots of happy family photos. They turned out so well against the backdrop of the property’s gorgeous Tennessee farm land just before sunset. In fact, the late afternoon sun truly set these photos alight! Everyone celebrated by eating, dancing, and enjoying the elaborate dessert table, which family members had all contributed to (a great idea when planning smaller, affordable wedding!) As the temperatures cooled off, Jon Haven staff opened up the side walls to create a lovely open air effect, allowing guests to enjoy the best of both indoors and outdoors at this lovely farm venue.
